Willard Maytubby was born on May 9, 1933 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He attended Lincoln Elementary School in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He served in the Unites States Army and received the rank of Corporal. While in the Army, Willard served in special services as a (French) language interpreter and played a key role in the Army band.

In 1956, Willard married the love of his life Doris. Willard accepted Christ at an early age and immediately started using the gift of singing for the Lord. Willard continued his education and received his Master’s Degree in Special Education and a PhD in Educational Psychology and Administration from Saint Louis University.

Willard and Doris moved to St Louis, MO in 1961. They are the proud parents of three children (Anecia, Venetta and Lemont).

Willard was ordained as a Deacon at the Page Boulevard Church of Christ in 1991 were he continued his love for music by participating in, and directing, the chorus group. Willard went on to be ordained an Elder at the West Central Church of Christ.

While Elder Maytubby is proud of his accomplishments, which include being married for nearly 61 years, he considers his spiritual journey to be the most important aspect of his life.

When he isn’t with his church family, he is busy writing music, directing the West Central Metro Singing Chorus, exploring new technology gadgets, travelling to experience different cultures, and spending time with his family, children and grandchildren.
